Dziekonski, Tom (1955-Present)

He is a violinist who earned his music degree at the University of Washington with the conductor Vilem Sokol.  He was also taught by the late concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra Daniel Majeske.

He was a previous concertmaster of the Seattle Youth Symphony before he went on to perform as first violin with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and as concertmaster with the Tacoma Opera.  He was a performer with Teatro Zinzanni from 2004 to 2014.

Other orchestras and ensembles he has performed with during his career include the  the Seattle Opera, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and St. James Cathedral Orchestra.

As a chamber musician he has performed for the Governor’s Chamber Music and Nordic Heritage series, with the Metropolitan String Quartet, the Seattle String Quartet and Northwest Chamber Orchestra and at the Oregon Coast Music Festival as well as the Portland State and Boise State universities.

His work can be heard on radio, television and film soundtracks as well as TV commercials.  In 2009 he was the solo violinist on the documentary Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition: Seattle’s Forgotten World’s Fair on KCTS-TV.

He has performed on many recordings which include Things I Done Wrong by Danny Barnes, Jus’ Sangin by Larry Braggs, Ballad Stories by Hilary Field, An Indigo Christmas by Indigo, Nation of Two by Vance Joy, Monochrome by Emi Meyer, Echo in My Soul by Northwest Girlchoir, No Es Io Mismo by Alejandro Sanz, We Are Family by Seattle Men’s Chorus and Ritzville by Allen Vizzutti along with many others as well as several compilations.

His wife is the cellist Virginia Dziekonski who has been Assistant Principal Cello with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra.
