Wolf, Vivian

Violinist and conductor who attended Berkeley High School and was a member of the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra from 1973 to 1975. In 1976, she attended Boston University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1981.

Groups with whom she has worked include the American Ballet Theater, the Hollywood Bowl Symphony, the Long Beach Symphony, the Los Angeles Opera, the New York City Opera National Company, the Opera Pacific Orchestra, the Pasadena Symphony, and the state orchestra in Tyrolia, Austria.

In February 1991, the New York City Opera National Company mounted a production of The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Power Center for the Performing Arts in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Vivian appeared on Luis Miguel’s Grammy-winning Segundo Romance in 1994. She also appears on his Todos Los Romances and Allen Savedoff’s Contradiction and Savoir Faire.

In the field of music education, Vivian has served as an adjudicator at the 2006 VOCE competition, director of the orchestra at Villa Park High School, principal guest conductor with the Santa Clarita Young Artist Symphony, private instructor, and teaching artist with the Harmony Project.

In July 2011, she was elected to the board of directors of Professional Musicians Association 47 in Los Angeles, California.
