Otis Clay took this song, written by Eugene Williams, to #24 on the R&B chart and #102 on the pop chart in 1972 and it was later famously covered by Bob Seger on his 1981 live set Nine Tonight. Bob’s version went to #5 on the pop chart and #2 on the mainstream rock chart and #3 in Canada, was featured in the movie Urban Cowboy, and went platinum four times over.
It also appears on Otis Clay’s live album Respect Yourself, Bob Seger’s Greatest Hits 2, and Maurice Williams’ Back to Basics, and has been covered by Ivory Joe & The Midnight Howlers and O.V. Wright.
